Process management tools are often used nowadays to model, execute, and measure process performance to master the challenges posed by major changes in company policies or demand for compliance to new standards. Following the demand for better alignment and stronger integration of processes as well as re-alignment of accountabilities in the company, WABCO has decided to apply cross-functional and digital process management. The project targets a common representation of all processes as well as an overarching alignment of diverse roles and responsibilities. Besides engineering and project management, it covers most areas of business development, manufacturing & logistics, sourcing & purchasing, innovation, and quality assurance. This presentation will give a view on challenges on the way and focuses on the different priorities and drivers of the diverse functions and their special demand on the process integration, as well as the challenges coming from different process descriptions. Additionally, the aspect of cross-functional alignment will be discussed - from the perspective of workflows as well as accountabilities. Additionally, guidelines for similar projects are presented.
