Method Park’s Stages and the Generic Automotive Process

Wednesday 03/10/21 from 11:15 pm - 11:45 am Working against processes is often unpopular, even if the people are not aware that everybody works against a process. The goal of an organizational process is to have a common process for everybody, so the work results are reliable, traceable, and reproducible. No one reads big documents to understand how the organization wants its employees to work. So it is a big challenge to make a process lightweight, understandable, and consistent to achieve better acceptance. This is why easy to use process models are so important. In his presentation, Alexander Schneider will show why Mentor Graphics decided to use Method Park’s Stages and additionally implemented the Automotive Generic Process. He will show how they developed a generic process to a process which fits the organizational related specifics. A process team that constantly works on the transformation and support of the development teams, which provides feedback on practical use, is important for success. Also, an easy to use modeling tool supports fast results. Alexander Schneider will demonstrate how they organized the process structure and progressing within the process team. He provides practical experiences and proposes some Dos and Dont’s.
