Key Issues of Organizational Structure and Processes with Feature-based Product Line Engineering and ISO/IEC 26580

ISO/IEC 26580 standard will usher in a new era for widespread Feature-based PLE adoption by providing engineering organizations the confidence to embrace the new paradigm that now has international credibility, validation and backing of organizations like INCOSE and ISO.

The organization needs to understand the roles and processes that can be presented in a comprehensive stages-based Body of Knowledge, to  help adopting organizations reduce their learning curve.

This talk describes those roles and processes.  It introduces the few roles that have no analog in other development disciplines and are new to feature-based PLE.  It describes how traditional systems engineering roles carry out traditional systems engineering tasks, but with slight PLE-inspired extensions that affect an organization‘s process models.  It describes the preocesses that are new for, or most affected by, Feature-based PLE.
